Laval and Sherbrooke, September 30, 2026 – The CQIB, Canada’s first biotechnology incubator with a mission to foster the creation, growth and success of the next generation of life sciences companies, will make its programs and resources available to start-up companies in the Sherbrooke region in collaboration with Sherbrooke Innovante through Espace LABz, a place for start-up or growing companies.

The CQIB will now offer its specialized life sciences support program to companies hosted by Espace LABz. This initiative aims to support their growth while promoting the attraction and retention of businesses in Sherbrooke. The program includes access to experts and its network, dedicated funding for start-ups, mentorship, and specialized training.

Powered by Sherbrooke Innovante, Espace LABz is a 20,000 sq ft multi-tenant centre designed for life sciences companies offering private laboratories, a fully equipped shared laboratory, laboratory operations support services, furnished offices and conference rooms.

“Over the next few months, we will launch a multitude of initiatives in partnership with Espace LABz to promote the creation and development of new businesses. We will work together to organize training sessions and events, as well as to promote pairings between companies supported by the CQIB and those of Espace LABz,” emphasizes Mr. Mario Filion, General Manager of the CQIB.

“Espace LABz, located near the Sherbrooke University Hospital and its research centres, offers a unique environment for the development of life sciences companies. Working together with the CQIB will enhance our service offerings and allow many entrepreneurs from the region and beyond to start a business within our state-of-the-art facilities,” adds Stéphane Mongeau, Head of Industrial and Technological Development, Life Sciences and Micro-nanotechnologies at Sherbrooke Innovante.

This structuring partnership is launched with the ambition of having a transformative impact on all life sciences companies in Quebec.
