Development of Innovative Technology Businesses - Quebec Supports 17 Incubators and Accelerators

QUEBEC CITY, June 17, 2026 /CNW/ - The Minister Delegate for the Economy and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Mr. Daniel Bernard, announced funding to support 17 organizations that provide incubation and acceleration services to innovative technology startups with high growth potential over the next two years.


The following organizations were selected following a call for proposals launched in the summer of 2025: ACET, District 3, Esplanade, the Montreal Center for Enterprise and Innovation (CEIM), Garage & Co, HEC Montréal Entrepreneurial Base, Le Camp, Zú, the Health Tech Catalyst (CTS), the Quebec Center for Biotechnology Innovation (CQIB), Indie Asylum, Fintech Cadence, MT Lab, IVÉO, McGill’s Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Quantino, and Entrepreneuriat ULaval.


Together, these organizations support nearly 1,000 innovative startups, which receive an average of 149 hours of coaching and mentoring per year to accelerate their growth and reach their full potential. Although many of these companies have only recently been established, they are already generating significant economic impact, with nearly $550 million in investments and an equivalent amount in sales over the past year. They also support approximately 9,000 jobs in sectors that are strategic to Quebec’s economy.


The total funding of $13.8 million allocated to the selected incubators and accelerators comes from the “Supporting High-Performing Incubators and Accelerators” initiative under the Quebec Research and Innovation Investment Strategy (SQRI²), as well as the “Supporting Business Growth and Retention in Quebec” initiative under the Quebec Life Sciences Strategy (SQSV).

Highlights

  • Under Action 7 of Axis 3, the SQRI² allocates $110 million to encourage innovative technology entrepreneurship during the 2022–2027 fiscal years. This amount includes $35 million over five years dedicated to supporting incubators and accelerators.

  • The implementation of the Quebec Life Sciences Strategy (SQSV) 2025–2028 includes nearly $271.5 million in financial support measures. Among its objectives is fostering the emergence of new entrepreneurs and supporting them in becoming the next generation of industry leaders.
