The CQIB welcomes Philippe Walker to its board of directors

Laval, January 27, 2026 – The Quebec Centre for Innovation in Biotechnology (CQIB) is pleased to announce that Philippe Walker, Ph.D., has joined its Board of Directors.

Dr. Philippe Walker is a life sciences researcher and executive with over thirty (30) years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development and biotechnology leadership. He founded and served as Chief Scientific Officer of NEOMED Institute, a leading Canadian life sciences centre with research and development facilities in Montreal and Laval. NEOMED fostered collaboration between universities, pharmaceutical companies, and biotechnology firms, leading to the creation of numerous companies and innovative therapeutic products. He is currently President of PW Consulting and co-founder and CEO of NIMIUM Therapeutics, a startup specializing in metabolic health and longevity.
His career in the private sector includes senior leadership positions at AstraZeneca, where he served as Vice President of the IMED Scientific Unit in Montreal and as Global Vice President of Neuroscience and Pain Discovery. In this role, he made significant contributions to the integration of numerous new chemical entities into the company's global development pipeline. Dr. Walker holds a PhD from the University of Lausanne and also completed postdoctoral research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. He is recognized as an influential and key figure in the Canadian life sciences ecosystem, both for his scientific expertise and his strategic leadership.
Thanks to the diversity of his skills and international experience, Dr. Walker will play a key role on the CQIB board of directors by contributing to the strategic direction of the organization.
