A building
The Centre occupies 27 000 sq ft. in theLaval Biotechnology Development Centre (LBDC), a 128 000 sq.ft. multi-tenant building devoted exclusively to corporations active in research and development in biotechnology and located in the hearth of City of Biotechnology and Human Health of Metropolitan Montreal. An important provincial tax program is offered to LBDC resident companies.

Premises
QBIC offers eight fully furnished laboratory suites (bio-containment 2) including a type 2 reverse osmosis purified water system, natural gas, gaseous nitrogen network, central vacuum system, emergency electric circuits, sophisticated ventilation systems, security, biomedical, chemical and radioactive waste management services.

Equipment Park
QBIC offers to its resident companies, access, at no additional cost and on a time-sharing basis, to a host of sophisticated scientific instruments.

	Support Apparatus Sterilizer (cycles: liquid, gravity, prevac) Industrial glassware washer (with purified water cycle) and dryer Type 1 water production apparatus Ice machine All purpose incubators and orbital shakers Low temperature freezers (-86ºC) and standard freezers (- 20ºC) Cold storage rooms (4ºC) (supplement for location) Centrifuges and ultracentrifuge Freeze-dryer of 12 L chamber for loose and single samples Thermocycler with interchangeable block and heated lid for 0.2 mL (other tube sizes available on request) Two Culture rooms for animal cells equipped as follow: laminar airflow, biological hoods, CO2 incubators, fluorescent reverse microscope, water bath, bench centrifuge, etc. Microbiology room Radioactive labeling facility Oven Vacuum oven Dismembrator Analysis Instruments UV-Visible spectrophotometer with printer Electronic imaging and analysis system (gel documentation) X-Ray film processor and other types of film (dark room) Two WATERS HPLC(s) with automatic sampler, photodiode array detector (PDA), Empower software, printer Liquid scintillation counter equipped with Beta and Gamma counter Plate spectrophotometer
