About CQIB
15 years of success!
CQIB is a business incubator specializing in life sciences and health technologies. It operates out of the City of Biotechnology and Human Health in Laval but also offers its mentoring services across Quebec and abroad.
A combined initiative of LAVAL TECHNOPOLE and the INRS, CQIB was created in 1995 and receives financial support from institutional partners, the governments of Canada and Quebec, and the City of Laval.
The CQIB board of directors is made up of 15 members representing the business and scientific communities as well as the incubator’s institutional partners.
A six-person team handles CQIB’s operations and manages the Laval Biotechnology Development Centre (LBDC). As well, some thirty consultants in the CQIB network offer their expertise to resident companies.
As a member of numerous business and technology networks both in Canada and abroad, CQIB can open doors for early-stage companies. These networks also provide invaluable knowledge that CQIB uses to continually fine-tune its business model.
Since 1995, the incubator has contributed to the start-up of 41 businesses employing over 700 people and generating upwards of $70 million in sales.
