Anatis Bioprotection specializes in production and sale of biological control agents (beneficial insects and microbial products) against insect pests as an alternative to chemical pesticides. We have experience in production of: 1) substrates for beneficial insects (e.g. eggs of Ephestia kuehniella moth) 2) several entomophagous insect species, predators and parasites 3) various microbiological formulations against important insect pests. With a strong experienced team and innovation technology unique to insect production to its credit, Anatis Bioprotection is currently the only company of its kind in Québec. The Anatis team has developed a series of microbiological products based on entomopathogenic fungi against the most important pests in agriculture: the Colorado potato beetle and the Lygus bug.

Located in the Scientific Park in Laval, Bio-K+ Pharma® is a division of Bio-K+ International Inc., a company specialised in the production, sales and distribution of probiotic products. Bio-K+ Pharma® is dedicated to the screening of intestinal bacteria to develop: 1) new products that will prevent or treat various bacterial or viral infections by the modulation of the immune system; 2) compounds that will relieve the symptoms of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis; 3) bacterial molecules that could be used as adjuvants during anticancer chemotherapy. NexPlasmaGen Inc (NPG) was founded in 2008 by Ms Valérie Léveillé in order to develop and commercialize a revolutionary technology for the treatment of chronic wounds and skin diseases. The technology generates a plasma, a mixture of very reactive ionized gases, with strong sterilizing potential. The treatment with this new technology is precise, non-invasive and thus has the potential to not generate secondary effects. In addition, the technology is compact and portable and thus can be used by hospitals, nursing homes, clinics in isolated communities, military outposts and even at the patient home. NPG has an option to negotiate a license on the technology with McGill University. The company is currently in pre-incubation period at the QBIC and is validating the technology performances for the treatment of chronic wounds.
